Foust was born in Lubbock, Texas, United States on 19th of July 1982. At the later stage of his life, he moved to Nashville, TN for his music career. He learned classical music in his high school days. He attended Lamar University but didn't graduate from there.

Besides being the bass vocalist of the Home Free, he is also a solo artist and he has also released an album as a solo artist titled The Best That I Could Do. He has collaborated with Gladys and Kenny Loggins in the group Ball In The House.
