She is the daughter of Diana Angelis, an Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Systems Engineer and James Angelis, an Air Force Major Flight Nurse. She grew up along with her twin sister singer-songwriter Kris Angelis

She studied Environmental studies from USCB before graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Moreover, she is also the founding member of a physical theatre company, Not Man Apart, and co-founder of Badcake Films.
