Sutton Lenore Foster is an American award winning actress, singer and dancer. Foster is best known for her work on the Broadway stage and most recently the revival of Violet.

Early Life (Childhood)

Sutton Foster was born in Statesboro, Georgia, US as Sutton Lenore Foster and raised in Troy, Michigan. She left Troy High School before graduating but received her diploma via correspondence courses to join the national tour of The Will Rogers Follies directed by Tommy Tune. Then she attended Carnegie Mellon University for one year. In May 2012, she received an honorary doctorate from Ball State University.

In 2011, she won Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, Outer Critics Circle Award, Fred Astaire Award and Audience Favorite Award for Anything Goes. In 2013, she has won Gracie Award for Bunheads.
