She was born on the laps of Anita Lee (Payne) Woodruff and William H. Woodruff. Her father was an U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer.

Initially she worked at CBS affiliate WAGA-TV. She worked there as a news anchor for about half a decade. She also worked at PBS.

Personal Life

In 1980, she got married to an American columnist Al Hunt. These days he is working as an executive editor at The Wall Street Journal.


She is the graduate of Duke University.
