Early Life (Childhood)

Born in Bath, Somerset and raised in Kingston upon Thames. Since her childhood days she was active on reading and crating stories. At 17 she worked in publishing company DC Thomson.

Interesting Facts

Some of her popular books are Cookie , The story of Tracy Beaker, Double Act among others. Wilson wrote her first novel Meet the Maggots when she was 9 years old. She used to billed as 'Jackie Daydream' as she spents most of the class hour sneaking outside the window.

Personal Life

In 1965 he tied a knot with Millar Wilson. The couple gave a birth to a child named Emma Wilson. In 2004 they ended up their relationship.


She has received Smarties Prize, Guardian Children's Fiction Prize, Blue Peter People's Choice Award, an inductee of honors from University of Winchester, University of Roehampton, Kingston University, to name few of them.
