Franco Nero is a Blue-eyed well-built Italian actor. He is best known for his roles of the title character in Sergio Corbucci's Django (1966), Sir Lancelot in Joshua Logan's Camelot (1967), Horacio in Luis Buñuel's Tristana (1970).

Early Life (Childhood)

Franco Nero was born in San Prospero Parmense Parma of Italy as Franceso Celemente Gluseppe Sparanero. He studied economics and trade in Milan University.

Interesting Facts

Over the last 45 years he has been a benefactor of the Don Bosco orphanage in Tivoli. He once was a painting photographer. He also played the narrator in the film Rasputin and voiced the character of Uncle Topolino in the animated film Cars 2.

Personal Life

Franco started dating Mauricia Mena in 1987 and split up in 1989 after dating for 2 years. They had 1 child, Franquito. Nero then married his long time girlfriend British actress Vanessa Redgrave since 31 December 2006. They together have a child Carlo Gabriel Redgrave Sparanero.

He has received many awards and in 1992 for his artistic work he was honored with a knighthood of the Italian Republic by the President of Italy. In 2011 he was honored by Brunel University of London with the honorary degree of doctor.
