Chloë Grace Moretz ( born February 10, 1997) is a cute American model and an actress. She is best known for her role in 500 Days of Summer, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Kick-Ass, Let Me In, Hugo, Dark Shadows, Carrie, If I Stay and The Equalizer.

Early Life (Childhood)

Moretz was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Her father, McCoy Lee Moretz is a plastic surgeon and her mother mother, Teri is a nurse. She first acted in two episodes of the CBS series The Guardian.

Personal Life

Moretz is not fond of inviting her friends to film sets or premieres as she fells more focused on work and relaxed with out them. She has turned down film characters who are overtly sexualized.

Chloë Grace Moretz is an American actress who rose to fame at a very young age. She was born in February 10, 1997 in Atlanta, Georgia to Teri Duke, a nurse and McCoy Lee Moretz, a plastic surgeon. She has four older brothers, Brandon, Trevor, Colin and Ethan.  She grew up in a Christian family with four caring older brothers. Even though her parents were divorced, Moretz says that she has had a very happy family life.
She moved to New York in 2002 with her brother Trevor and mother because Trevor was going to pursue his studies in Professional Performing Arts School. It was during this time, the field of acting captivated her interest as she would help Trevor read lines. She was already learning the tricks of the trade and her career was going to soar off. She soon got offers for small roles on TV shows like The Guardian and Desperate housewives, although the big break which took her to the limelight was the remake of the Amityville Horror in 2005. She was noticed immediately for her role in the movie and was nominated for Young Artist Award. Her brother Trevor who inspired her into movies meanwhile started working with her as her acting coach.
Moretz further went to star in various smaller roles on TV. Some of her noteworthy appearances were in Dirty Sexy Money and Desperate Housewives. She appeared in movies like Today You Die (2006), Room 6 (2006) and Momma’s House 2 (2006). Some of her other movies include Wicked Little Things (2006) and The Third Nail (2007).
In Kick Ass (2010) directed by Matthew Vaughn, a movie based on the comic book series of the same name, she portrayed the character of Hit-girl. The movie triggered some controversy regarding the use of profanity and brutal violence. Despite the controversies surrounding the movie, Moretz was critically acclaimed for the role in the movie and it proved to be a milestone in her career. Following the success of Kick Ass she starred in the movie Let me in in which she played a young vampire. In 2011, she played in the crime-thriller Texas Killing Fields and Hugo which was a movie adapted from the novel The Invention of Hugo Cabret. The movie earned 11 Oscar nominations.  She went to star in movies like Hick, a movie adaptation of the novel by Andrea Portes and Dark Shadows, which is a remake of popular soap opera. In Kick Ass 2 (2013), which was a sequel of Kick Ass, she reprised the role of the Hit-girl and was again widely praised for her performance. Another remarkable character she played was the role of a 17 year old musician in the movie If I stay (2013). In the year 2014, she made her Off-broadway debut in The Library. She has been noted to have an affinity towards more dark and troubled characters about which she remarks that these characters present a worthy challenge to her because they are such a contrast to her reality.
Moretz’s upcoming projects include movies like Brain on Fire, November criminals and a sequel to Neighbours  (2014). She has also modeled for various major magazines like Flaunt, Teen Vogue, Marie Claire, Interview, Crash Magazine and several others. In 2014, Time Magazine named her as one of the 25 Most Influential Teens of the year. 
Even though a teenager, her days aren’t typical to other teenagers. She was also called the “busiest actress in Hollywood” when she was only 13. She has always aspired to be in the industry whether as an actress, a producer or a writer. Her versatility and her determination have already left a mark in Hollywood and it can be safely assumed that this Hollywood star isn’t going to fade out anytime soon
