Yury Aleksandrovich Gazinsky better known as Yury Gazinsky is a Russian professional footballer who currently plays as a defensive midfielder with the FC Krasnodar and Russian national team. He started his professional career with the club Smena Komsomolsk-na-Amure in 2007. On 14 June 2018, he scored the first goal of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in the 12th minute of the opening match against Saudi Arabia, Russia went on to win the game 5–0

Gazinsky started his professional career with Smena Komsomolsk-na-Amure senior club in 2007. On Ist of August, he went to play with Luch-Energiya for an undisclosed fee. He later transferred to Torpedo Moscow, where he played from 2012 to 2013. He is currently playing for Krasnodar with whom he penned a three-year contract on 1st July 2013, in a deal worth £225K. He also scored 5 goals in 128 apps. He is in contract until 30th June 2021 with Krasnodar.
