Andrew Lincoln is an English actor who is recognised as Rick Grimes of the series The Walking Dead. He plays the lead character on this AMC horror drama series. His first major role was in the BBC drama This Life.

Early Life (Childhood)

Born Andrew James Clutterbuck in London, attended Beechen Cliff School, where at age 14 he had his first acting role as the Artful Dodger in a school production of Oliver!. After leaving school, he studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Interesting Facts

He provides voice-overs for both television and radio advertising, as well as narration for documentaries. In 2001, Andrew went to Ghana for a month with Voluntary Services Overseas to experience how volunteers and development agencies work first hand.

Personal Life

His father was a civil engineer and his mother is South African. Lincoln married Gael Anderson, daughter of Jethro Tull vocalist Ian Anderson. They have a son named Arthur and a daughter named Matilda.

Andrew won People's Choice Award for The Walking Dead in 2014, and has won other awards including Golden Nymph Award, Saturn Award and Satellite Award. Nominated for a Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Drama Actor in 2013.
